Leadership WorkshopThis week I spent an amazing 3.5 days diving into leadership. There were amazing highlights: being one of the first couple of cohorts, learning how to dig deep and create a safe and trusting culture, recognizing that empathy is critical, incredible development team to work with, meeting new associates from across the organization, obtaining tools to take back to my team, and feedback from and exposure to Officers of the company. While I wish I could express adequately in words how much this training meant to me, anything I would say would not quite measure up. This organization has poured so much into me from the moment I stepped foot on its soil. The best way to return the favor is to pour that same (and more) into any teams I have the pleasure of being on or leading. Thank you, Jeremy Dick and Valen Cross for facilitating an excellent training that I know will continue for years to come and continue to get better and better!There is something truly special about leading a team. I have the most amazing teammates. They own their work and their products better than any product manager I have seen (no matter the industry). They provide excellent partnerships and only want what is best for their customer and the member. It has been an honor leading you for the last 6 months. It is ingrained in our culture to continuously get better, and I am excited to share a great example.So with that, I am celebrating my completion of Toast’s Scale Leadership Development Program! This 7-month program provided comprehensive training in key leadership areas from mastering strategy development & implementation to influencing cross-functional teams.
